5th-grade Girls (2nd season with Blaze)

Coach Wilmot is looking forward to his 2nd season with the Blaze. A lifelong basketball enthusiast that has been around the sport his whole life. Recently has coached youth basketball at the elementary and middle school levels with CDS in Groton for 2 years. He has also recently coached in the Dudley Summer League and Townsend/Ashby/Pepperell area town league both at the 5th and 6th grade levels.

Coach John Garside
6th Grade Girls (2nd season with Blaze)

Coach Garside will coach the 6th-grade level this spring after an successful season last spring. John is a long-time boys and girls coach in the Groton-Dunstable Youth Basketball travel and recreational leagues. He is a former team MVP and captain for the Westford Academy Grey Ghosts boys basketball team.

Coach Rick Beauregard
6th Grade Girls (6th season with Blaze)

Coach Beauregard has coached with the NC Blaze for 5 seasons and is gearing up for his 6th season. He is also member of the NC Blaze Board and is a Member of IABBO Board 44 as an official. Rick's has been coaching youth basketball for 11 years; 5 in the Nashua NH area and 6 in the Townsend/Ashby/Pepperell Area. During this time he also coached with NH Flames AAU Organization. His tenure with the North Central Blaze over the past 5 years included a Gold Medal-winning team in the 2010 U13 D2 Northeast Super Regionals, a bronze medal in the 7th/8th grade at the 2009 Bay State Games, and a 5th place finish in the Division 1 - 2009 Mass State Tournament.

Coach Bruce Cain
7th Grade Girls (2nd season with Blaze)

Coach Cain returns to the Blaze staff this spring after a successful winter season in the Groton-Dunstable Youth Basketball travel program. Bruce has previous AAU coaching experience in addition to 6 years as a travel league coach and 11 years coaching youth basketball from grades 4 through high school. He is recreational division president of the Groton-Dunstable Youth Basketball League.

Coach Mike Davidson
7th & 8th Grade Girls (12th season with Blaze)

Coach Davidson has been with the Blaze as a coach for the past 11 years and co-director and club president the past six years. Mike's career has included five seasons as coach at Hawthorne Brook Middle School, three seasons as Lawrence Academy's JV coach, and five seasons as a varsity assistant at North Middlesex. His career highlights include coaching the Gold Medal-winning Central Mass. team at the Bay State Games in 2006, a runner-up finish in the Mass. AAU Division 2 14U Championships in 2009, a third-place finish in Division 1 in the 11U division in 2010, and a Division 2 AAU State title last spring at the 7th-grade/12U level.

Coach Joe Battaglioli
8th-grade girls (12th season with Blaze)

Coach Battaglioli has been coaching Blaze teams now for over a decade. He is a past varsity assistant coach with the highly successful Westford Academy girls basketball program. Coach Battaglioli has garnered numerous accolades as a successful travel-team coach over the course of several years in the 1990s and 2000s.

Coach Donna Mastrangelo
9th Grade Girls (3rd season with Blaze)

Coach Mastrangelo begins her third season with the Blaze after guiding our 7th grade "A" team to the Mass. AAU Div. 2 title in 2010 and finishing in the Top 8 at the 8th-grade level last spring. Donna's teams have attended many of the most prestigious tournaments in the Northeast, and also participated in the AAU Division 2 Nationals in Rochester, Minnesota back in 2010. Donna recently completed her second season as the head varsity coach at Lawrence Academy in Groton.

Coach Peter Pray
5th-grade, 9th Grade Girls (2nd season with Blaze)

Coach Pray takes the helm for one of three Blaze teams at the 9th-grade level after having assisted our Div. 2 State Champion 7th-grade team back in 2010. This spring will be Coach Pray's 5th year with the Blaze. He has been an assistant coach for Bedford boys varsity and freshman teams. He is a former highly successful travel coach in the Groton-Dunstable Youth Basketball travel program. He also held various coaching positions in Bedford in baseball, softball and track.

Coach John Court
9th Grade Girls (1st season with Blaze)

Coach Court has been coaching youth basketball for over 8 years. This will be his first year with the NC Blaze, but John has coached the past two years with other AAU. John has coached several championship teams with the Littleton MA travel basketball program, and has served one year on the Littleton basketball board.

Coach Barry Call
11th-grade Girls (19th season with Blaze)

Coach Call is in his third season as an assistant coach of the Fitchburg State women's basketball team. Call brings over 28 years of coaching experience to the Blaze, including 15 years as a junior varsity and varsity assistant at North Middlesex Regional High School. Call also served as girls' head coach at Mascenic Regional High School in New Ipswich, N.H.
Call has been actively involved with the Central Mass Cougars and North Central Blaze. During his 1996 season, Call led his team to the AAU National Tournament in Nashville, Tenn. Call has also been an active staff member at many basketball camps in Central Massachusetts and is currenlty a certified basketball official with Board 44 in Fitchburg.

Coach Kevin O'Conell
11th Grade Girls (7th season with Blaze)

Coach O'Connell has coached with the NC Blaze for 7 seasons. He is also a member of the NC Blaze Board and a Board Member for Lunenburg Youth Basketball. Kevin has been coaching youth basketball for 10 years; as part of the Lunenburg REC program, the Lunenburg Travel Program and the North Central Blaze AAU club. He also currently is the summer league coach for the Lunenburg High School Girls Basketball team.

Coach O'Connell has always fielded a strong "A" level Team for the Blaze and competed in the State and regional AAU tournaments with his team for the last few years, included a Silver Medal-winning team in the 2010 U14 D2 Northeast Super Regionals.

Coaches John Megan & Peter Page
Girls (6th season with Blaze)

Pete Page has coached with John Megan in the Blaze organization for six years and is currently looking forward to coaching his seventh season with the Blaze. Both coaches stress player development for all players during their AAU season. Coach Page has been affiliated with nine AAU teams which includes both boys and girls programs. He is a board member of the Ayer Shirley Tournament Basketball Teams which promotes travel tournament basketball. He was recently the head coach of the Parker Boys Varsity team, andthis year Pete was thrilled to accept the position of Ayer High Girls Varsity coach. He was a coach/counselor last year at the Jim Calhoun Basketball.
Coach Megan has been a varsity assistant coach at Ayer High for several seasons, and he joined Coach Page's staff this year.

Coach Susan Wynn
Special consultant, fall-only coach (9th year with Blaze)

Coach Wynn had an outstanding basketball career playing for Clark University. A three-year starter and two-year captain, Susan was part of Clark's most successful years, helping the squad to a four year 92-19 record. In Susan's tenure, Clark won the NCAA Regional Championship and an ECAC New England title. Susan was also an All New-England pitcher for Clark's softball team as a freshman and led the team to the ECAC Championship with a 17-3 record and 1.2 ERA. She was the varsity coach at Groton School from 2005 - 2009. Under her direction, Groton School posted their most successful seasons in school history, advancing to post season play four consecutive years and being awarded the Independent School League sportsmanship award in 2009. She has coached for the Blaze at the 12U, 13U and 14U level including a Division I 14U National team in 2004. She serves as president for Groton Dunstable Travel basketball and coaches youth soccer, basketball and lacrosse.

Coach Henri Meilleur

This is Coach Meilleur's second year with the Blaze. Henri has coached in the Lunenburg Recreational League for the past 6 years, concentrating on Grade Levels 1-6. Previously, he coached a 7th-grade YBA team in Boston for two seasons, winning the league championship once. Coach Meilleur was also the freshman coach at the Manville School in Boston for 5 seasons.

Coach Peter Patno
9th Grade Boys (9th season with Blaze)

Coach Patno is the current Boys Program Director and Vice-President of the Blaze. Pete has coached AAU boys and girls with the Blaze since 2005. Coach Patno's teams have achieved great success in the Lunenburg Junior basketball travel program in both boys and girls divisions. He is the current Travel Team Director for Lunenburg Junior Basketball. Pete is also a past Lunenburg High girls varsity assistant coach. He is also founder and co-director of Central Mass. Basketball Training, a pres-season program started in the Fall of 2006.

Coach Rob Stone
11th Grade Boys (10th season with Blaze)

Coach Stone has been with the Blaze since 2003, starting with an 11u team on the girls side of the program. Rob coached that team through their high school years with multiple strong showings in Mass. D1 State Championships. Rob started with boys program in 2009 with a 14u team, and will coach same group as a 16u team this year, with aspirations of qualifying for Nationals, regionals, and plan to qualify for nationals. Rob has also been a Head Coach in the Groton-Dunstable travel program.
